Windows98 startup 1

I was removing some startup programs from windows98 when my system crash. And now when windows starts up i get to my desktop but there is no icons and when i press alt,cont,del. my Explorer is gone the only theing that is running is my Norton Virus How do i get my icons and start bar to display

If safemode doesn't work, hit F8 on startup, choose Command Prompt only, type edit c:\windows\system.ini. change<br>[boot] <br>shell=;Explorer.exe<br>shell=progman.exe<br>Go to Run, type winfile and use Filemanager to navigate around. <br><br>Type msconfig in the run box in Program Manger. Enable the items again.<br><br>Go back to Run, typed sysedit, change the shell back to Explorer.exe and reboot.<br><br>reghakr<br>
