Windows95 won't shutdown

My company still has multiple workstations with Windows95 on them. The machines will not shutdown and are hanging. After a while it Blue Screens. Please advise.

What are the specs for the PC'S?

Example:

Memory, hard drive, processor. I will guess it may have to do with memory leaks. When your PC blue screens, 9 times out of 10 it will be memory related. Windows95 should be at version B.

Give me some more info so I can make a better assessment.

The machine is a Dell GX1, Windows 95B, with 64 MB off memory.

You may want to consider upgrading the memory to as much as your system/budget will allow. What applications do you have open when you get the blue screen? Memory would be a good starting point. As far as the PC's not shutting down there are many issues (I.E - Virus programs, programs in startup, etc). You may want to check out Microsofts Knowledge base and do a search for startup/shutdown problems for Windows 95. You will get some articles on it.

We also have this problem. I think it's caused when you are connected to a network. When you shut down Windows, it tries to cut the network connections and don't arrive.
With Windows 98 we install the program that coorect this problem. With Windows 95 we don't find an avaliable solutions.
