I have my workgroup name saved and it is fine until I reboot. Once I reboot it changes back to the default name. I am administrator and have no idea how to fix this problem.

for the new workgroup name to become aktive, you have to reboot once, you should get that as a popupmessage when you hit ok to save the change (after welcome to workgroup .....)
On 2 computers, I do not get the Welcome... on all other systems I am getting the message and they are fine. It is these 2 that never give me that message and the workgroup name goes back to default.
I remember there being something in the specs of concurrent connections in a workgroup using XP (something like 10). Could that have anything to do with these being dropped?
No... On the campus, I have over 250 systems total.... and use 10 workgroups. Not having this problem anywhere else. I just put these 10 new systems in this lab and all are fine except these 2. This group has been in place for years; it is not new.
