Okay, here is the situation, we have an NT 4.0 network here where I work, but we do not have NT workstation on the PCs, just Win98, and me and 2 other people have Win 2000 Professional. This one lady has Win98 on her pc and a HP Deskjet 820 Cse printer attached to it locally. I hooked the printer up to it using the original installation disks that came with printer (3 of them). Well, we started having problems with other people(using Win2000 Prof) sharing the printer across the network. So I updated the driver off of HP's website its called dj379en. On the pc's with Win2000 Prof., I have used the add printer wizard to try to install the printer over the network and used Network Neighborhood to find the printer to install over the network and still is doesn't work. Here is the error message: The server on which the HP Deskjet 820C Series v8.5 printer does not have the correct printer driver installed. If you want to install the printer on your local computer click okay. Well we have no print server dedicated for printing, just the pc where the printer is attached locally. And on this pc where this printer is, it prints fine locally, but the users with Win2000 Prof. can not print to this printer over our network becuase of this error message. I know that the driver I found on HP's website was the correct one. Can someone please help??
