Win98SE - Arrange Icons - Auto Arrange greyed out... 1

Are all ok but Auto Arrange is inaccessable (greyed out)

Any suggestions/ideas for a fix to this irritation? TIA

When viewing files in Explorer as a list or with details, this option is grayed out.

Yes - that's correct - when viewing files either as a list or as show details, the option (under Arrange Icons) of Auto Arrange is greyed out.

Not sure if you misunderstood........

What I was attempting to say was in order to have the Auto Arrange un-grayed, set the view to something other than list or details - ex. View as Large Icons, or Small Icons.

Ah, silly me - did misunderstand. I see, Auto Arrange works for for Large Icons, Small Icons ect but not for list or show details - got it.
