Hello,
I am trying to get some things under windows 2000 RRAs to work but since I am new to it I need some help. I am currently using ICS under windows 2000 server to share an internet connection. Now I dont like having to keep a user logged in to keep the internet connection alive. I have tried to use NAT but I cannot even get the internet to work locally on the server lat alone over the network.
I have Verizon DSL which uses PPPOE to establish a connection. I am using a PPPOE protocal called RASPPPOE ( RASPPPOE allows me to use it as a demand dial adapter under RRAS and I can get it to connect and obtain an IP address but thats about it. I have tried to get NAT to work using a Microsoft guide but its extreamly simple and has no detail whatsoever. I can get an IP address with the demand dial connection but even locally on the server I cannot get onto the internet. I cannot ping websites using there IP's either. its as if the connection isnt seen by anything other than RRAS.
To me it looks like I need something else other then adding the servers NIC and DSL demand dial adapter to the NAT protocal adapter list. Anyone know hot to solve this problem? Thanks.
