Hi all out there :)
I wonder which version of IOS will work on a 2610 router in order to stop the message "PQUICC-1-UNKNOWN_WIC: PQUICC(0), WIC card has an unknown ID of 0x2E " and let me start to work on it :)
Thanks to all in advance.

is that card recognized in a 'show diag?' If I remember correctly, PQUICC references the firmware onboard a t1 wic, meaning you may have a bad wic that needs to be RMA'd.

Might also check to make sure your IOS supports that card.

Sorry, the right message is Unknown WIC in slo(0/0), wic card has an unknown id of 0x2E Thanks again :)

Ah! And actually I´m using 12.3(6c) version, of IOS guessing that this version it was to work... But no :-(

Which kind of wic is it? If it's a t1 wic, you could probably put in super-old 11.X code and have it work. I think you need to RMA that thing.

Hi...
rtfmdude it is a WIC-1ADSL card and I think and hope the card does not need to be replaced. And in a old version of ios will no work because my understand is since this card is a newest technology than old 11.. ios supported.

Now the show diag output for the WIC-1ADSL is

Thanks to all again.

well, cisco.com sez 12.2(13)T should support it, why don't you go over to cisco.com/software and pull down some 12.3T code to make sure? Make sure you have enough memory for it and slap it in.

Crazy question.....did you install the card with the router active?

Hi...
Joamon if your question is meanwhile router was turn on... No way!!! It was added with a common sense way :)
Cisco says the 2610 can use this card, but I was not sure about the ios version. Thanks both of you.

NP...Just ruling that out...sure you probably did it right but needed to eliminate that possibility....RTFM probably hit nail on head....defect card....but try getting more current IOS to rule that out.
By the way if your card is a wic-1adsl-dg it is only supported for the 2600xm series routers.

Ha, ha... I understand... No, it is a WIC-1ADSL not WIC-1ADSL-dg so the 2610 gives support to it... Now, dig for one 12.2(13)T ios...

I guess I´ll need to upgrade the Flash to 16MB... Thanks...

8 meg flash gonna most likely be ip only feature set.....need upgrade to 16 for more features.
Just checked...ip only with 8 meg.....That is probably the problem you are having right now...need additional features.

Hi E.N. thanks for the files and for to take time to help me... Unfortunally the results were the same... Here is the output (except for the line where says the ios versions, the rest is equal):

Do you still thinking it is a WIC problem or maybe I need more mem?
Thanks a lot again...

ok, let me see if I can get ip plus or something. maybe this thing is just honestly DOA.

A. The ADSL feature is supported in the IP/ADSL Image ("y7" image) for the Cisco 1700 Series. The Cisco 2600/3600/3700 series routers require a PLUS Cisco IOS Software image for ADSL if version 12.2T is in use. From Cisco IOS Software Release12.3 mainline and later, ADSL WIC support is available in the "IP Base" feature set. Some Quality of Service (QoS) features require an advanced image (IP PLUS, IP VOICE, or later) for Cisco 1700/2600/3600/3700 series router support."

all the plus 12.2T IOSes require 16meg o' flash, I think you're out of luck, my friend. See if you can get a new wic.

Hi rtfmdude
New WIC!!!?? I think you mean is find a new Memory (16MB), right? Don´t scare me...
Any way... Thanks for your time... By the way... Do you never sleep??? :)

Hi again... Then, my understand is I will need to use 64/16 (RAM/FLASH) amount of memory... Is this correct? Well is not DOA, but it is transforming in something personal now, ha, ha, ha...
