What settings do you have on the console session (baud rate, stop bits, etc.). Also, do you have another rollover cable you can try, with a new rj-45 and db-9? One more thing...have you tried telnet/ssh?

Burt

Thank you for your reply, burtsbees! First,I'm sure that the settings I have done was correct(as:9600-8-none-1-none),the 5300 and PC were connected with a good rollover cable as you said,I think ,if the cable was bad, some IOS information couldn't show ,at last, they should be some wrong words. Secondly,I wished to login in from telnet, but the fastethernet interfaces was down(as showed above).

Well, it really looks like that the terminal emulator is goofing up the sent information. Have you tried to console with the exact same emulator, cable and pc to something else, successfully? Have you tried a different emulation program? Have you tried a different pc? How exactly do you know that the cable and pc and emulator are good? You must try different things to resolve your issue. If after all these things you are unsuccessful, then you can pretty much blame the asa box, unless you just want to go ahead and buy a new one without trying EVERYTHING (much less ANYTHING).

Burt

This problem has been solved ! The reason is that the cable I used can't receive any words in Cisco sys,not as other type of routes.I changed it for another HUAWEI cable,it's OK!

Hmmm...I did suggest that, and you insisted the cable was good. What cable were you using?

Burt

HI,Burt! Thanks! Could you tell me your MSN?
The cable I used is OK for other router but not for AS5300.

What is an MSN? Do you mean messenger service? I have a Yahoo one...zleppelin. The Yahoo goofnuts seem to like to try and do weird crap like "booting" and such...
It sounds like the cable still may be bad, like one pin or something. I'm not 100% on the ASA boxes as far as the console cables go, but I was under the assumption that they were the same rollover cable as the routers. Maybe it needs one more pin for data or something?
