Virgin post.
I have linked an Oracle table to MS Access. Now I'm trying to display data from the Oracle table with a field having a LONG datatype. (Access lists the datatype as 'memo'.)
The textbox on my form displays boxes where carriage returns should be.
How to I tell Access to use actual carriage returns?

If you are seeing boxes instead of characters, chances are that this is a non-printable character in the Access world.

What I normally do in this case is one of two things:

a) Make sure the charset is the same between the Oracle and Access worlds.

b) parse the field, and check the ASCII value of each char; if it's not a printable character, replace it with one that is.
