I want to include photos from a digital camera in a brochure. They need to be high-quality, to be printed via offset press, on gloss paper. I have yet to buy the camera for this effort; what 'resolution' (for lack of a better word) should the camera be/photos be shot at? TIFF format, I assume, so there is no loss of image quality. Size/space is not a problem.

The greater the resolution the better quality photo. Stored in .tiff format though, what takes 500-1000k in .jpg, will take 10MB in .tiff. It will also make a difference how good a printer is printing them. Rob
Just my $.02.

Talk to (or choose) the printer who will print the job. He will know the best specs for digital files. More may NOT be best; only a waste of file space. Depends on many variables; image size, print method, etc. DO NOT buy the camera first, then hope you did the right thing. Find out what you NEED FIRST, then find the best camera you can afford which will meet those specs.

Good luck!
