What monitoring software do you use?

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum but...I'm looking for a replacement IP monitoring solution to measure server uptime, and alerts etc

Can anyone make any recommendations? Only looking to spend about £300 tops.

GFI isn't to bad once you've got it configured for the events you want to capture.

You could always try finding some google-ing for free stuff or have a look at

If you haven't already done it I really like IPSentry .. the best bang for the buck out there imho. Easily in your price range.

You might want to take a look at Nagios as well. It is free, and a lot of datacenters use it. Open Source Labs at Oregon State use Nagios, for example. You didn't mention OS, so I'm guessing Linux is okay? Nagios requires Linux.

do so. It has the capability to graph out stats you want, which helps with showing management (they like pretty pictures).

OpManager, is a bargin, plus it integrates into their other products very well.

We use a combination of Nagios and Cacti. Nagios is great for availability monitoring and alerting whilst Cacti is great for historical performance data.
