I just signed up for coursework in:

COMPTIA Security+
MCSA
CISSP (Certified IS Security Professional)
and
GIAC Security Certification.

Wish me luck. :)

You doing this all at once? Hell of a workload, good luck.

I've registered for all those (it was a package deal)... I'll be doing them sequentially.

That sounds like it will help you out a lot. Good Luck!

Greg,
I too am going for the GIAC. Are you taking it after the "boot camp" that is CDI East? I'm excited to get it underway. After words, I'm being "voluntold" that I'm going to "attend" the CISSP that SANS does. I've already got the security +, so just expanding my horizons.....

Haven't gone for my MCSA yet. I seem to be pretty busy with all the security related training lately. Will finally get around to it eventually (probably when Longhorn hits the streets).

The company wouldn't spring for any kind of boot camps... in fact, I'm having to pay for all this training out of my own pocket.

I'm taking all of the courseware online, then I will probably have to drive to Duluth to take the actual exams.

negotiate a raise for achieving the certs before announcing that you have them, since the company did not pay for them. once you get the raise in writing, and only after then, announce that you have them.
