webrtc for demonstration only

I have a customer that is on 10.1.3 server edt.. They want to use the webrtc client on their macs. When i log into the client it says for demonstration only. Does anybody know what this is about? They also want to see if it has a directory. This is my first experience with it. Thanks in advance!

There is a test page on the server, suspect you're looking at that. So the question is what URL are you using? It should be something like

https://<gateway_address>:9443/webclient

address:9443/PhoneService. I tried the url you posted and it did not come up. I am trying all browsers. thanks for the reply!

Yup, they certainly did. No idea why. I used the WebRTC client it a lot on 10.1 as I was WFH for most of the start of 2018!

Was a bit surprised that it wasn't developed much further with 11.0.

This isn't supposed to be used outside of testing.
The official WebRTC client is Avaya Communicator for Web.


Depending on the URI configuration the ICR can be completely ignored.

If your URI is configured to use internal data then the IP Office will look into the user's SIP tab and if you have *'s it will look into ICR.

In 10.1 you can use a whole range of WebRTC clients: Aura Call Center Elite Agent, IPOCC client, Avaya Communicator, Web Collaboration and any 3rd-party built with the IP Office WebRTC SDK.

You could also use Equinox Select (as it was called then) but it did have that strange 'customer feedback edition' label attached to it, sort of controlled introduction. It was also only supported on Windows Chrome

In 11.0 it got a rebrand to IP Office Web Client and support on Windows and macOS Chrome (the Windows version also got a thick client which is essentially just a borderless Chrome window).
