This is doing my heed right in.

I have CCC all installed on 2003 machine and workin.

I have installed wallboard client on my XP machine.

When i try and connect wallboard server to the delta server on the 2003 machine it says

permission denied whilst connecting to server or process

WTF?

What am i doing wrong? What can i do to get rid of this. Im sure it is permissions of some sort but i have followed the manual to the T regarding access permissions etc.

please help me cause its starting to ruin my day.

I have now, no dice.

I dont think that is related to wallboard client.

I can open wallboard client on the server but not the client, i could before that was set.

Hang on a mo, i get the same error on the server so this rules out all authetincation issues.

doesnt it?

Anybody else got 5.0.43 CCC to try?

You are making the assumption Avaya have released a piece of software with no bugs in....just a thought.

1 thing on reading posts:

is the CCC set as a domain controller or just part of a domain? Domain controller will give problems and "is not supported"

Can you try from a non or domain user but Map the folder on the CCC server and then trying to connect.

Can you try connect using the IP address rather than name of the server.

now I will go and test...

Don't think I want to go on one of your CCC courses!!!!!!!!!

Still sounds like permissions to me. Does the user you are logging onto the server as have permissions to the wallboard database????

Heh, i dont do the CCC courses yet. Cheeky bleeder.

Jamie. I am sure you are right bit for the life of me i cannot figure out what. I have permitted every flipping thing i can see in every possible way reducing my network security so any person in the world can access the server.

Taker. I will jump if you can tell me what is going wrong here. It isnt the domain controller, its just a member.

amriddle. I have also downloaded the trial build which also does not work. I have to be honest, half of me thinks i am missing something but the longer i go on the other half thinks that this must be a bug.

have you got a matching domain account for the laptop

i.e. pglaptop/pgtestaccount and
pgcccdomain/pgtestaccount

with the same password...

What you are doing is, in effec, a peer to peer arrangement

Take Care

Matt
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Ok lets forget all the stuff that dont matter.

On the server that is logged inot the domain i get the same error.

Fix this and i think the other will work.

If i open wallboard client on the server i get the same issue, surely that cannot permissions? Can it?

so on the server, you can run wallboard server but cant run the wallboard client?

and you get message
"permission denied whilst connecting to server or process"

This looks like a MSDE or SQL problem not permissions.

Check the log in to the database, run odbc or go to control panel, Admin Tools, DataSources. Add a new SystemDSN, set up the MSDE with the user name and password, this will tellyou if the details are correct by connecting or not.

go to Database Management, SDX ARchiver, check that the properties-permissions are set correctly for users!

No, i can run wallboard server and when i open wallboard client i get database path / filename not found.

This says in the docs that this is usually because the C on the server is not shared (everything is shared all over the shop) or the client not having auth on the server (it does, everybody is auth in every way possible). And it doesnt even work on the server so this rules out the client having no auth on the server.

Oh yes. The wallboard server / CCV would not start otherwise.
