Has anyone had any experience with running a Vonage VOIP line into a DS (or CI in this case) card?

Does it act like a regular copper as far as users will see it? Does the CID work like telcos? We're thinking of dropping one of these puppies in and would like to know if it would play nicely with the MICS.

yes and yes ...
only thing you need to watch out for is the 911 database

Also, make sure that you call Vonage to have them activate the DS on the Vonage box.

I have a Vonage box on my CICS 6.1 and worked well, but was not sending the DS signal to the system.

Had to call into Vonage tech support and have them change some of the values. I can not remember exactly what they were, but I think it was the CPC delay (2 seconds) and the CPC duration (500 ms).

It Works. Customers tell me it gets choppy sometimes but it's worth it for the money they save in LD calls. These customers usually have 2 line pools, one for LD calls that use Vonage lines, and one pool for local calls that use local land lines.

I have had good feedback NA wide with Vonage. I did notice the disconnect signal not working in the Norstar voicemail. Its nice to know the disconnet signal timer can be adjusted.

I currently have 3 MICS systems with NAMs running Vonage (3 locations) and all are working well. Switched to Vonage about 11 months ago and no system related issues (Vonage has some issues with their firmware). We have an average of 10 lines per location and no issues with DS. CID displays fine with the CLID cards.

You will have hunt group issues. Vonage HG settings are not reliable and the ksu doesn't take up the slack.

Thanks guys. This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. So, I guess I really only need to watch out for CPC signal issues.
