Has anyone done it? I see the option for an efax numnber when I am in the vmpro client.

Does it work out of the box or is additional licensing needed? (we have server edition)

A walkthrough would be great too

Anyone? :) Thanks!

Vmpro itself is not a fax server.
You always need a fax server and then vmpro can send the fax calls to the fax server.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Ah got it! Thanks, tlpeter!

Do you have a recommendation for fax server that plays nice with vmpro?

To be honest I don't have any :)
I have worked with one years ago and I cannot recall the brand.

MultiTech Fax finders seem to work OK. I have put in a few FF220.

I prefer online faxing (to the few still using fax over here).
Fax goes straight into their Exchange server.
Problems with the fax you say? Talk to the IT-guy.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Yes I would love to just go hosted to avoid any integration at all. Not my call - We are checking out GIF fax maker which requires analog ports I guess, still researching.

I've put in a few of the Multitech FaxFinder units as well. They work really well and a have nice desktop faxing client. I've only put in the IP version that connect to the IPO via SIP trunks. Nice thing about them is the channels are licensed so you can upgrade them in the field without replacing hardware. I do wish they had a cover page editor built in though.

We forward the number on a provider level, straight to the hosting partner, all in all it cost $8 per month/number.

Kind regards

Gunnaro and Qswsa - awesome information
I will be considering this, I especially like the idea for MultiTech working at an IP level. I do not want to have to deal with Analog anymore!

SIP would be way better. I shall be doing some research on that now.

Analogue, that was hot in the sixties:)

Kind regards

GFI Fax Maker is one that I used a while ago. Purely software based
They could h323 or SIP to communicate with the IPO.
Didn't have any issues with it and as far as I know - the customer still has it running to this day.

I seem to remember that they provided a step by step guide on how to install and configure it to with the IPO. Though it could have been one of the older guys just wrote the guide himself for me..can't remember.
