Happy Tuesday.
I'm seeking info how-to config AA to replay the main greeting if the caller does not select 1,2,3 etc.
currently, if a caller selects "0" we have this routed to "484" group= rings x number of extensions. I think there's some missing data in the Avaya Exercises literature on building a home menu to replay the greeting.
System works fine however.
The timeout option looks attractive but I just don't yet know how to use it to send the caller back to the start point.

Thank you everyone for the great help over the past years.
I hope loved ones are healthy and safe.

With gratitude.

So what you need to do is check the timeout option and then using the connector tool you have to draw back around to the menu but without crossing any other lines!

That is what timeout is for... routing when they don't do anything.

I want to offer my gratitude to you folks. I couldn't have imagined (of course without trying first) drawing a line from TO to the menu.
It is the little things that helps some of us so much though.

Again, thank you!

@budbyrd,

This did not work unfortunately.
Created the timeout in touch tones, attempting to drag the new line around to the menu doesn't stick, connecting the line to the start point/ main greeting menu did not work either.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you all

You just have to keep trying. It does work.

there is an option in the Menu under Touch Tones
it is the "No of Retries"
Set it to the number of times you want to replay the greeting before using the timeout option of the menu

This way you can replay the message a few times before doing other stuff (I prefer hanging up on people)

Please have a peek at the timeout config. with or without the connector, it does not work and AA does not hang up.
Thanks everyone!

Try pointing the Timeout to a HOME ACTION link
It’s in the exercise section of your guide

That way it will go to the very start of the module.

I don’t understand how you can’t get this basic function timeout to work.🤷

you are pressing SAVE AND MAKE LIVE when finished

Send a screen shot of your connection to the timeout connector and your timeout timer settings.

Why don’t you do a new basic AA with time out and 3 options and see if that works
Test with a short code to prove it works.
That way you will know that you can at least set it up correctly.

Your screen shot looks fine, as long as the configuration is live.

Please have a peek at the timeout config. with or without the connector, it does not work and AA does not hang up
(emphasis mine)

Can you please reconfirm what you are trying to accomplish?

"AA does not hang up" - I thought that was your goal here, if the caller does NOT make a selection, the AA does not hang up and starts over instead.

Sometimes customers ask me to play the menu, and if the caller does not make a selection, start the menu over.

Other times the customer says start the menu over, but if it plays 3 times, and they still don't make a selection, hang up on them.

Yes agree with TouchToneTommy
Every thing looks correct.

When you close your vmpro client down and reopen it does it show the online version and not offline.

Strange 🤷
