Hi,

We have an IPO 500 that uses embedded voicemail for the longest time since its first operation which is around 2008.

A few days ago, the voicemail started to fail. When i check the unit for voicemail, the display indicates that Voicemail is not running. Which is a bit odd since there has been no changes in the configuration.

I have already tried to re-seat the SD for i dont know how many times, and it still failed to function. I tried to run the voicemail in VMpro.. it worked for a while and then back to voicemail not running.

I check on the system status, with using embedded, i check for the voicemail status, and it indicates that voicemail type is none and no voicemail ports.

any insights on how to solve this issue?

Tom, sorry for the confusion.. but what do you mean do i get a few more days out of it?

Do i get it running a few more days before it fails again after reseating? No.

or Do i let it pass a few more days before reseating the SD card again? No.

The first one, there was an issue a while back, but reseating would usually clear it for a few days/weeks.

when reseating is the process:

system off, card out, system on, let it power up, system off, card in, system on?

Tom,

yup.. thats the way i did it.. but still voicemail is not running.

I dont know why it only happened now after 2 years of working smoothly.

Please can you confirm - is this an IPO 500 V2 using a SD card or is this an IPO 500 V1 using a CF card.

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

If it is running for two year then it will be a CF card.
VMPro will only run for one or two hours so you can do a test but then it stops.

Put the IPO back to embedded voicemail and restart the system without the CF card in it.
After the startup turn it down.
Then insert the CF card and turn it on again.
Now it should be working.

@tlpeter,

i have tried this procedure a couple of times hoping that it would restore the voicemail, but still not running.

@tom,

yes the cpu and cf light is on.

Put the CF card in a card reader and tell us what is on the card.

There must be a 00031001.clp file on it

@tlpeter,

there are other files in the CF card, and other clp files but no 00031001.clp.

can this file be downloaded somewhere?

No you can't.
You need that file otherwise your card is broken.
It should be on the card with other clp files.
Did you delete it perhaps ?

one of our contracted techs came in last week.. we reported that our voicemail is no longer recording. he said that maybe the CF card is already full and he may need to delete some of the files.

could be from there. i dont know how he can delete it from the CF since i tried deleting some clp files before and the IP office admin software wont allow me.

True but if you put it in a card reader then you can delete it.

@tlpeter

You know what.. i tried deleting from the admin software, and guess what? the software allowed me to delete some files from the CF card, compared to what i said earlier that it never allowed me. Now it does.

Something is weird here, just not sure if the IP office server or the CF itself.

Anyhow, is there a way to resolve this voicemail not running issue?

If the 00310001.clp is gone then the card is broken.
You need to send it back to get it repaired.
