Wondering if anyone has seen this happen before. It appears that either all channels or only specific channels go into this state causing havoc with callers. The customer is complaining that callers are getting either wrong greetings, RNA or disconnected. We have done extensive troubleshooting and are looking to replace the VSC card, but I wanted to make sure there was nothing else I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have an Octel 250 vm system and it has what I think is the same problem as yours. The ports in the 81c pbx are programmed as a 2616 that feed into the Octel. ocassionally a port will hang. What I have to do is put a 2616 on the hung TN and press the pos busy key on the phone, and then it releases.

That's a great idea. However, it seems to be happening quite often, which in turn causes issues with their Sympoium call routing. I'm hoping to find the root cause in order to stop if from happening again. Thanks for your quick response.

I suggest you follow the directions you were given last night by your friendly neighborhood TAC Engineers!!!

have a star jeff, seems like you have the inside track on that one... can you share the advice, don't have that issue here, but if i work long enough i will see it. seems like i've broke about everything that nortel allows at least once..

Direct from the horses mouth (Nortel)Hope you find it useful

Disable Voice Service Card on the PBX in LD 32 (DISC), remove Voice Service Card from the PBX and then re-seat it.

Stop Voice Service Monitor Service, de-acquire voice ports in SECC, delete phonesets (for the voice ports that were de-acquired), and re-enter the phonesets, ensuring to check the "add voice port" as each is created. Using the following format is required when creating phonesets for voice ports - Telephony Address, example - 6-0-0-0 (do not use 6-0 or 6-0-0), acquired voice ports in SECC.

Stop the VS Monitor Service on the SECC, delete the Voice Service Card from the SECC under Voice Services Configuration (ensuring to write down the keycode and exact details listed for the VS Card), create the VS Card again (with exactly the same information), complete the Voice Service Card Import, and start the VS Service Monitor Service (all voice ports logged in after approximately 3 minutes).

No. I checked the programming in the NTPs and it's all set up correctly. Thanks for your input though.
