Hello all,

Thought I'd post a new thread on problems I have when I tried an upgrade last week.
Upgraded the IPO from 9.1.12 to 11.0.4.
Moved on to upgrade the VMPRO from & to same releases.

Couldn't get logged into the VMPRO after upgrading & voicemail wasn't answering.
Ended up downgrading it back to 9.1.12 for now.

Posted earlier the problem & someone says I need to Enable the VMPRO client access through the VMPRO Web Management.
Never have or knew there was a Web Management for VMPRO & can't get in it.
Only have about four customers with VMPRO (first time upgrade) the 100s of other customers just use the Embedded.

When I go to a browser & put in of VMPRO/voicemail I get the attached file.

When I go to the current 9.1.12 VMPRO then Help/About it says Web Services N/A

I'm far from an IT guy, but learning whether I want to or not :)

What do I need to do to get this running?

Thanks so much to all replies

Only the app server version of VM Pro has a web management. Make sure you add :7070 at the end of the IP address. It is port specific.

Web control is on port :7071

You might try other browsers. Most will give unsecure site warnings unless you have a valid certificate. Explorer all ways gives me fits.

Thanks again both of you,

Tried Google Crome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, all say "Unable to connect" http or https (IP address:)7070 or 7071

None of them give even any type of site warnings, just right away gives me the Unable to connect.

Seems that the address you are using is for the mailbox feature not access to the VM through the client. If I remember correctly that is to listen to messages from the browser no to manager the system. I could be wrong as I only did this once a while ago.

Thanks for the reply teletechman,

The only two IP's associated with my phone equipment is the .17 (sever the VMPRO is on) & .16 (IP of IPO)
Tried http, https, :7070, :7071 for both of those & never get a response from any of them.

The only time I get anything from the VMPRO is on my first post (see attachment Unable to acquire license)
when I do
The VMPRO is on Windows 10.

Thanks again everyone, if any other ideas please let me know.

the :7070 and :7071 are for the App server not for a Windows server. If you are having issues with logging in after an upgrade it is something else. The screenshot you had was for the feature I talked about not for managment. It is called web voicemail or something like that, you can search here for that and see it.

I guess the title of the post was misleading. Sounds like the usual password problem that happens during an upgrade. The windows version client should be able to 'browse' to the local server with no problem. If it won't connect to the IPO verify the password in IPO security setting match what is set in the client. If you can't connect with the client I would try and reinstall VM Pro.

budbyrd,

This is what happened when I did the upgrade last week, I have this on another post & then someone mentioned I have to enable the Voicemail Pro Client Access through the Application Server Web Management.
Below is what I did & posted;
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyways, thought I'd move forward on upgrading the VMPRO also 9.1.12 to 11.0.4.
Things looked like they upgraded successfully, but I couldn't log back in & the services weren't started so voicemail was down.
Went in & erased security settings through Manager & put in my new passwords.
Still was unable to login.
When I would put in the User name & password it says I need to have something in the Unit Name/IP Address.
Whenever I would put something in there it removes my previous entries for User name & password.

I've read about password needed for the upgrade, but I have no way of putting it in.

Tried to start the Services & says unable due to not logon.

Then I thought just uninstall & reinstall, have the same problem.

After hours of reading & reading could not find a solution.

Eventually, I just uninstalled again & put it back to the 9.1.12, everything just came right up without me even needing to put in Username/password.
It just automatically had something in the Unit name/IP address.
Tested everything good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So now I'm back to the 9.1.12, but trying to see how to get that Web Management up, for when I try to upgrade again

I just thought of maybe trying another customer's VMPRO server to get in their App Server Web Management, using their IP that the VMPRO is on.
Again tried https, http, :7070, :7071 & get the same results, no connection.
The person that we purchased both of these system basically had them preloaded, ready for us to use.
I just had to fine tune them to the customer's needs.

So could he have missed something when he pre-loaded these blocking me from accomplishing what I need?

Think I mentioned earlier, only have 4 customers using VMPRO (rest just have embedded) the same guy preloaded all 4 of the PCs

If you all can keep the ideas coming, I greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Can I point out that enabling VMPro Client Access is only applicable to 11.1
I've done dozens of VMPro 11.0 on both Windows and AppServers, it is not necessary.

I've also done upgrades from 9.1 to 11.0 with Windows VMPro, and although it is not necessary, I usually will upgrade VMPro from 9.1 to 10 to 10.1 and then to 11, making sure I can get into the client and confirm that the call flows are still there on each version.

Thanks TouchToneTommy,

That will be my next step I guess, since I did try just going directly from 9.1.12 to the 11.0.4.

I do have the software available to go 9.1.12-10.0.7-10.1.3-11.0.4.

See how that turns out.

Thanks again & crossing my fingers, I'll let everyone know how I turn out.
Customer only wants me to do this after hours, so I'll have to get something scheduled.

More information is helpful. If you can't get the services to run change the service login to 'Local System Account' Otherwise the service is looking for a valid windows user account. Nothing to do with the IPO.

Thanks budbyrd,

I'm assuming you are talking about when I upgraded to the 11.0.4, but the VM was down & the Sevices said unable due to not logon?

Then as I stated I'm no IT guy, but you totally lost me on "change the service login to 'Local System Account'.

If not to difficult, can you tell me how I do this?

Oh. Sorry. Search 'services' in windows. It will pull up a list of service running on the PC. Scroll down to the Voicemail Pro service. Double click it. Go to the Log On tab. It has two choices. Local system account or a valid user name. We change ours to local account, it makes it more stable. Ok out of that and start the service.

Thanks so much for the info budbyrd & no apologies needed on your part, I'm the slow one. [sad]

This could be very helpful if/when I do the gradual upgrade as TouchToneTommy recommended & have the same results when I went directly to the 11.0.4
