At a new customer, I recently had do an emergency upgrade of the binaries and VM Pro since they were on 4_05 and the vm stopped working. Before they were my customer they are saying (although she may be mistaken she is starting to admit) that when they got an vm forwarded to their blackberry they hear a voice that says to delete message press *D etc, just like the audix avaya lady. She thought she heard this at the end of the attached wav file. They do not have any evidence of having IMS on their system. (licenses, although there is a suspicious folder on the desktop called AVAYA with a backup folder in it and then another empty folder called IMS!) I have it connecting to the exchange server on the same subnet via SMTP and a valid login ID and people are getting their vm's forwarded - But if it would have been connected via mapi to exchange would that have included those prompts in a wav file?

I think it could be true. You should check the disconnect settings on the lines. Maybe the caller would hang up but the system still thought a call was there and started to play options to the caller. Once the system finally hung up, the message was forwarded to email, they listened to the entire message and hear these options. Not realizing what this was, the users probably thought it was normal.

Just a guess.

That makes sense. The reason I needed to do an emergency upgrade to 4.12 was because of issues w VM on its matching 4.0.5 release. Users on the Dig 30 module inexplicably lost use of their touch tone buttons, hence could only receive calls. There was a post about that here and that clued me in to quickly get everything up to 4.12 Great site!

I will ask if they ever used this feature and if there was a reply response. Such as when you press *D for delete, the voice comes back and says "deleted".

The suspicous folder on the desktop is from the batchfile Backupreg.bat from the VMPro CD. So it was made during this or a previous upgrade.
And if no IMS was installed the folder will still be there with no data in it.
