Trying to remember how to decode the encryption for the passwords on a log from VM pro. I have an issue with the password being wrong, but I know I have entered it correctly. I want to make sure. This is part of the log.

I never knew you can decrypt this.

I have done it in the past but forgot what I used.

Found it you can go online and google decode 64 bit and you will find an online decoder.

interesting I have this decoded and the UCM 9.0.12 is not sending the password to the provider.

What version of manager and voicemail pro are you using? I remember there being an issue in the R9.0 days they changed the way they encrypted passwords. If you used like a R9.1.9 manager with a R9.1.6 system it would keep blanking out the passwords. Been a while I don't remember the exact details but I do remember it was in the R9.0/R9.1 days.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

it is UCM R9.0.12.0.2 is 9.1 a free upgrade, I believe it is.

No R9.0 and R9.1 are different major releases with no free upgrade... confusing I know since R10.0 to R10.1 and R11 to R11.1 are free upgrades.

What version of vmpro client are you trying to use is it also R9.0.12? And, just for fun, what version is the control unit and what version is manager?

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

11.1 from my laptop. IPO is 9.0.3. The UCM was upgraded after a crash with a new UCM and a backup config. It is weird that the UCM/VM Pro does not even try to send the password. I have tried multiple setting using different providers and even multiple entries in the client to test and see if the first is bad then the second might send but no luck.

Its odd that it would effect the voicemail pro portion but this setup would absolutely cause the manager issue in the above thread. Try this to be sure:

Go in with manager, set a login code on a user, and save the config. Close the config, re-open it, and go and see if the login code has been blanked out. R9.0.3 was the old way of hashing and R11.1 would be the new way.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Are we talking of passwords being sent to the SMTP server or passwords between the IPO and the VMPro (UCM)

I am confused

but surely 11.x VmPro is not compatible with 9.0 IPO

9.1 is the highest release then 10.0 and up works differently and is only compatible to 10.0 and higher

I am talking the password sent to the SMTP provider. The VM Pro on the UCM is R9.0.12.0.2, the IPO is R9.0.3.

UC module and IPO should be running the same release. Like I said there was a hashing change between R9.0.3 and R9.0.12 so maybe that is the issue or it is simply a bug because of the mismatching releases. The best suggestion would be to upgrade the IPO to R9.0.12 to match what is currently on the UC module. That is the highest release of R9.0

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

I have seen this same issue with R11+ vmpro on app servers. If you use the web manager to set the smtp password it fails and sends a blank password. If you do it via the vmpro client then it works fine.

I am using the VM pro client. The :7070 and :7071 are unreachable for some reason, might be corruption and this is causing the issue.

OK trying this again, new set up. VM pro on Windows server 2016. Defaulted the VM pro settings and loaded R11.0.4 SP7 on both the VM server and the IPO. I then loaded from a backup and tested and had the same issue of no password. Deleted the VM program from the server and reinstalled it the imported the call flows, wav file, greetings and names and tested same issue. This is a new server in place of the UCM. Not sure what to try next?
