Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated…
I have a location that presently has two phone systems: a Nortel Meridian and a Definity S8500. The Definity has one MAS 2.0 and one MSS 2.0. The Nortel is using Meridian Mail. These two systems are connected via Q-sig T1. The switchboard for this facility is on the Nortel system.
Here is my problem: Periodically, the operator will transfer a call to an Avaya user and when that person is away from their desk, the caller hears a fax tone. No greeting or anything else—after 6 rings, a fax tone picks up. I do not know if this is every Avaya user; I have only heard complaints about 3 people (I am one of them…). Has anyone experienced or heard of a mailbox covering to a fax tone?
Thanks,
Joe
