Hi. I can't seem to find anything on Tek-Tips about this so I'll start new.

I've got a 500v2 at R7.0 (232702) with 9504 and 9508 sets. I've gone into visual voicemail and left myself a message to test the email function. The email didn't work, but that's a smtp server issue. my problem is I discovered that I can't get into the voicemail to listen to it through visual voicemail. I hit the message button and I can see that I've got 1/0/0 messages. I select listen, it shows new 1, old 0, saved 0 but I can't select new to listen to it. I've tried the OK button on the nav pad, I've tried the button beside the option for new and I've tried the select softkey all with no effect.

If I use *17 to get into the mailbox it will play the message, which then shows up in visual voicemail as old, and I still can't select old messages to listen to it.

I can't upgrade to 7.0 (27) as it breaks the 9500 sets, and I can't go to R8 as the customer wants the voicemail -> email option and that's not possible without the essential keycode for R8 which thy won't pay for as they were told it could do it with what they paid for in the first place (and I'd have to agree with them on that!) I can't downgrade to (23) due to the 9508 speakerphone problem and I've got combo cards so I can't go back further than that!

HELP PLEASE!!!!! I don't have enough hair left to be pulling it out!

Thanks,
Qz

If its really is broken then there is little you can do about it, if you buy the R8 upgrade licence you get the essential licence automatically and its not hugely priced, you may want to take the hit on that to fix it for them, only worth it if it's fixed in R8 though. :)

i had the same issue last month, i resolved the isssue by re creating the sd card, put back my back up and it worked.

Has the system ever lost power without a UPS to back it up? Could be a corrupted system sd card.

I'm currently working on this problem on a site right now after upgrading to 8.0 working with 9630's and VMPRO 7(17). A method that did work is to go into the voicemail via *17 and delete ALL messages. That allowed the feature to work again on those phones. I was able to test with a handful of users to confirm. However, if the users on site have a large number of messages it isn't a good option.

I've tried a few variations of removing the voicemails from the account folder, letting vmpro rebuild it (at that point it's working), dump the voicemails back in with the config text files for that account and to locks up again. Also, tried removing one file at a time from the folder, restarted the service each time to verify changes took and no luck.

On the phone with our support partner right now. They said it sounds like an 8.0 bug. We may be getting a ticket put into place.

Ipo on 8.0 and leaving vmpro on 7.0 will give issues!!!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I was on that page as well. We crawled through avaya docs surrounding 8.0 prior to the upgrade and they didn't state anything regarding a formatting change which is why we moved forward with it. An Avaya ticket has been submitted regarding it. I'll post an update once we hear back.

Side note: Something I forgot to mention in the original post. They said it's also a common bug found in variations of 7.0 upgrades even when using a 7.0 release of vmpro.

On the users ShortCode do you have a *DCP if so remove it.
And in the Source numbers do you have a Vxxx (xxx is the extension number)?

No luck with *DCP in the user short code. As for the source number, some do and some don't for security at this site. It still works the same either way though. Just tested it on one that had it and one that doesn't.

try to remove the voicemail code.

Qzwsa - I also have the problem with listening via Visual Voice.

Was your problem fixed ?

Maybe by Recreating as DigitalG suggested ?

Regards Lodde

Hey Lodde. Yes, recreating the SD card via manager was the solution.
