Visual Interdev Question

Hi,<br>I have what to me seems like a very stupid question, but I can't figure it out. I am running Win2K Server with a Win2K Pro client. I'm on an intranet with all net access handed trough a hardware firewall. The server just handles the in office traffic. I have Visual Interdev installed on the client. When creating a new project, Visual Interdev asks in step 1 &quot;What server do you want to use?&quot;. I have tried the server's name, name.domain, IP, localhost, everything I can think of. I get no love from Interdev. What the hell is it looking for? I have IIS running on the server. I even installed Interdev on the server. It still doesn't like it.

Usualy it happens if you don't have FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

I agree, but I Win2K Server says it has the front page extentions installed. Now, when I go to the server extentions Admin, I see the folder and beneith it the server, but nothing else.

We're looking into IP Blocking for our application (if they screw up the password multiple times), and we've noticed that every client behind our own firewall comes up with the firewall's IP address using REMOTE_ADDR or REMOTE_HOST. Perhaps InterDev is looking for that ... I'm not that experienced with InterDev so I can't be sure, but it's an issue we've come across and haven't solved (yet!).

A couple of thoughts:
1)You might try re-installing server extensions. I did this once when no other explanation worked. (I guess they were corrupt.
2)I have heard that word2k has or places its server extensions on server, in conflict with those you've installed. I believe you are to remove the word2k ext. (Might check MS tech support/technet to get more info on this.)

I am getting error when I try to create a new web project in Visual Interdev 6.0 on Win2K. The error is
&quot;A reserved error occured (-2147220496&quot&quot;

I have checked Microoft site and it has one article about the error. The resolution did not work for me. I have the correct versions of COMCTL32.ocx and COMDLG.ocx.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
