I just bought an HP (Compaq) CQ50. The laptop came with Vista Home. I want to reformat the HD and install XP Pro. Is that going to cause an issue with any hardware, say like the graphics card?

The graphics card is NVIDIA GEFORCE 8200M G

I'm asking cause I installed XP Pro and screen has a delayed response time. When I click on a program, move a window around it takes a sec or so for it to respond. So then I thought what if the drivers are not installed? I did a Google search and found the drivers here. That link notes that this driver is for a Vista OS. So that got me wondering, and here I am...

Thanks.

The links for the Badongo DL are still active.

you have to enter the CAPTCHA box on the right of the screen, and then hit enter... a new screen pops up and this one you will have to scroll down, there is a countdown and the DL button will appear...

NVIDIA HDMI Audio Device - 1.0.0.6

scroll down to see the DL link...

here is the official video driver DL link (newer version):

Yep, as that is the SOUND driver for AUDIO over HDMI...

for the SOUND card to work you do have to install the UAA driver first:

UAA Driver
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe

that is not needed if you have SP3 installed (it is included)...

then install the SOUND driver for the SOUND card:

Conexant SmartAudio 221

or even try this one:
Code:
Download the LENOVO driver above. Unzip to a folder.
Run installer, if it errors use Device Manager.

From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD",choose Update driver, [b]No[/b] to connect,
Install from a list or specific location, Select Don't Search, I will choose the driver to install,

For the Hardware Type select 'Show All Devices'.

Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".

Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the [b]WiSVHe5.inf[/b] file.

Ignore XP when it complains.

Reboot.
