I tried to backup some files using Backup and Restore Center. The only option I could get was backing up whole drives. Is there something that I am missing? or is this another one of Vista's great features?
Different versions of Vista have different tools in the Backup & Restore Center. Vista Business should have both Back up files & Back up computer. The Back up files option is what I was calling the 'regular MS backup program' - it is similar to the ntbackup utility included with XP. Whereas Back up computer is a disk imaging utility that has never been included with previous versions of Windows. The group policy that linney has posted is the likely cause.
I turned off backup configuration in Group Policy and the Windows Backup and Restore Center appears to be the same.
There are two options:
1. Back up Files: Which only allows me to backup a whole drive and doesn't give me the option to select just the files I want to backup.
2. Back up Computer:
