Can you make video calls without one x portal or softphone? Is so what kind of cameras are needed/supported

You don't need One-X portal but you do need IP Office video softphone (softphone). Any other type of video call does not work only video softphone to video softphone within the system or SCN not externally :)

Also any webcam can be used, I have a bargain basement £3 webcam and it works great :)

Counterpath Bria does work yoo (is the same) but needs an sip endpoint license.
The Avaya sip softphone only need the teleworker or power user license and no sip endpoint license.

ACS IP Office or is it ACSS :)

Has anyone tested this? Does this work with phone manager, or do you HAVE to use softphone?

This has nothing to do with phone manager !!!
This is a separate application.

It's not there yet, so be patient. It heard in about 1 or 2 weeks but you'll never know with AVAYA

From the KB,

New Softphone
Release 6.0 adds the new Avaya IP Office Video Softphone for Teleworkers and Power Users. This can be
used standalone or in conjunction with one-X Portal for IP Office. IP Phones including Avaya IP Office Video
Softphone is not supported on IP Office Essential Edition – PARTNER® Version.

Did you confirm that Bria video works?

So the R6 is offerring video as an option on a sip call then? We were told it would not be until 6.1

That'll be the problem, get it ticked and make sure the entries for softphone are ticked under the Power Users too :)

Yeah, it is pretty cool, I like the fact you can either take control of the handset Phone manager style or use it as a softphone :)
