Hi all, I am a new M1 81c admin and have jsut found out today that I am supposed to be supporting an AT&T partner system. I have no clue about this system what so ever. I had a user call up today and state that one of the extensions had static.(ext 17) so I went to the switch and found that by pluggin the phone into the port on the switch I still has static! ( to me that elminates bad wiring) anyhow port 18 is open on the switch , how can I move this phone from port 17 to port 18? Please excuse me if my terminology is bad or if this has been discussed before I ahve search the forum and found no material on this? I also have no manuals for this system at the shop! Thanks for any and all help ...Maybe if nothign else a point in the right direction to resarch? Thanks again for any help any of you can offer!!!

you can move the plug in 17 to the jack in 18...unfortunally the dialplan in the partner is fixed so 17 will now have to be 18. As well, you might want to copy all of the features as well, and add Automatic VMS Coverage if needed. Good luck.

very common problem with partner I might add

I would suggest you get a spare 206 module and juat swap modules when this sort of thing happens put the good module in send the bad one out for repair that way ext numbers dont change

Thanks for reply guys however, I am a complete infant to this system. I do not know how to "move" "copy" I have no clue what VMS coverage is or what a 206 module is? I was hoping for a walk through or if not a place wher I can find a manual to read about this system?

The manuals are available for free download at
As far as "moving" extension 17 to extension 18, take the cord that is plugged into the extension port for 17 and plug it into the port for 18 instead. Go to Ext. 10 or 11 and copy the programming from 17 to 18 by dialing:

FEATURE 00
LEFT Intercom button TWICE
#399-17-18
FEATURE 00

This does not copy the buttons (except the line keys), so go over to the now extension 18, press FEATURE 00, press each programmable key, and then you will need to enter a feaure code to program the button. Such as Feature-05 for redial, Feature-03 for Flash, Left Intercom *71 for page, etc. The Manuals will give you the feature codes.

Good luck, and post back with specific questions.

Thank you very much...I will look into this in the morning. Avaya was the only place I have not looked yet. I will report back my findings!!! Thanks again!!!

if you ever need the manulas again they are posted in the FAQ's at the top of the page.
