To do remote client installs, they now require the remote registry service to be running.....we havent had that service/security hole running since Windows 2000....
I've always had better luck running a silent install during a login script anyway... we were running into outlook issues when people were getting the new version pushed to their desktop and if they had outlook open it wouldnt install the outlook add-in properly.
...I guess I'll have to poke around with 10.1.5 (currently running 10.1.4)
I know what you mean - the remote installs have always been flaky - they seem to work for one version, then not the next....ya never know...they actually work for this version (if remote registry is turned on)....I tried on my workstation....but Im not going to turn it on company wide....like you, Ive found other ways to do the install...
