Hi all
Can someone please help I have an announcement that says press any button to skip this message
I seem to have every button on the keypad covered except for the star button,

Collect 1 digits after announcement XXXXX for none
goto step 6 if digits > 0
goto step 6 if digits = ?
goto step 6 if digits = #

Thanks in Advance

Kat

why have an annc if you do not want people to hear it

If they call in more than once and have already listened to the message they can skip it and be directed to the main menu

less work.
change the recording to say "press 1 to skip"

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

seeing you can not use the star key why not just rerecord this saying to skip this announcement please press the # key at any time, or something like that.

ok thanks for your suggestion , I have already recommended this but I was really interested if there was a command that incorporated the * key.

Suggestion to insure you prevent toll fraud

Collect....
Goto Step xx if digits = none (use this right after the collect step to stop filling up the event log)
Goto Step xx if digits = 9 (send this to a step that plays a message stating the caller is being traced for attempting toll fraud)
Goto Step xx if digits = 9+ (same as above)
Goto Step xx if digits = 1
etc.....
Goto Step xx if unconditionally - (send them here if nothing was pressed or didn't match any of the digit combinations you accounted for above such as *).

Make sure COR of VDNs does not allow unrestricted dialing. Limit to internal only where possible. For VDNs routing out to specific numbers put the number in ARS with a low FRL requirement. Never give a VDN unrestricted outbound calling capabilities.

Keep your event logs clear. Vectors should not be generating a bunch of events.
