I have an application (Access 2003) which will run on different machines using a variety of monitors with different aspect ratios - some long and slim, others short and wide.

Is it possible to specify the length of a form (continuous forms) so that it is say "Screen-length minus 2 cms" ?

Or specify that the position of a form is "Screen-width minus 10 cms" - relative to right-hand-side of screen ?

Your problem is not with your screen size/aspect ratios, which everybody always assumes, but rather with the Screen Resolution. Simple solution would be to change the resolution on all machine to match the resolution of the development machine, but this isn't very practical. The other answer involves a whole lot of work . Fortunately, someone has already done the work for you! Go to this site and scroll down to the "Access Form Resizer" and download it.

There are several of these hacks out there, but I've used this particular one for a number of years without any problems. Like all of these resizers, it works best when the database is developed in the lowest resolution that will be used, and the resizer used to "upsize" the forms.

Best of all, it's FREE!
