Well, that just posed more questions than answers.

Some Key Points.
1) Pay for Avaya Tech Support
2) Pay for 6.x Upgrades.
3) Simplified licences - yeah right
4) Minimum accreditaion to resell and install IP Office.

Brain is awash with questions I didnt get a chance to ask....

1) yes you find a bug and have to pay Avaya Tier III to look at it. Sounds like a winner to me. In my experience Tier I and II through my distributor have never been any help they just pass it on to tier III with Avaya and now we will have to pay for that.

there were a good few annoyed people with the proposal of charging for support now.

Make the kist cheaper but make it up in support and upgrades.

You would have to be a ACSS-SME Expert site in order to not pay for support and have direct tier 3 support. There is a document that covers the requirements.

It's people like you who generalize.

hairlessupportmonkey, I think you were fooled by the Avaya manipulation of their own figures, by no measure is the kit now cheaper, not by a long way :)

That isn't the way I understand it.

You still have to pay regardless of your reseller qualification.

If it is a product defect, you get your hours refunded.

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

CarGoSki, can you share that doc ?

I felt they were very keen to show the saving but glazed over points like all IP Endpoints (including DECT) now need a licence which has always been included when you buy a Avaya Endpoints. They have now split the Endpoint licence to Avaya and 3rd party so unless the Avaya one is a nominal amount it is a complete stitch.

I do like the way they can stand the with a straight face and say they are after the <20 market. Humm 4-5 users that will be £4000 please.

bm97ppc, the Avaya endpoint licence is £50 each or £35-40 for larger quantities (20) hardly nominal I think you will agree :)

I don't know but the guy from jersey did have some issues......

The only issue i had was no proper lunch!!

Tom - I think so.

Yes we were stiffed on lunch too!

I felt Loura(spelling) was a bit of a lamb to the slaughter. I felt like we were in a classroom full of naughty kids.

Wasn't that the case ? :)
