I have a customer who will only upgrade there V1 500 chassis only if they don't have to replace there V1 digital 30 expansion modules. If I upgrade the main chassis to 9.0 would I have any issues with the mixing of versions?

No they won't

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I am sorry, i missed the mixed versions part.
You need to upgrade the modules to 9.0 too.

Thanks for the fast response... So as long as I've upgrade my SD card to the latest release on the 500V2 chassis and then connect all modules to the system and then the SD card upgrades the modules to the latest release there should be no problem??

Except, if you have any LEGACY modules installed. When upgrading to 9.0 you will get a warning concerning LEGACY modules and asking if you want to proceed. The system only warns you and doesn't identify legacy modules (if any) that may be installed.

If you have Legacy modules installed; DON'T PROCEED with the upgrade, because once you complete the upgrade legacy modules become obsolete and usless.

OK, I don't have any. So I should be fine then with bringing them up to R9 then right?

Legacy is 9.1 and up.
