Inventory shows we have 8 analog ports, 5 of which are being used. I don't know that any real analog lines are being used. But I know we have 5 numbers which go to department voicemails that are type 2500. I'm assuming those are it.

-How can I check which are being counted as analog ports
-How can I set up my own personal DID (or any for that matter) to use an Analog port? (for example, i want did 555-555-7606 to become a FAX line instead of an IP phone line)
-If the above can't be done, how do we get analog lines going through the PBX at all?

Thank you

2500s are analogue. Out the ipset & build it back as a 500 on an analogue card.

Try printing in ld 20 at the type prompt put 500 and leave the tn prompt blank. This will show you what is programmed.

I am only asking this question to make sure I understand your question and Terminology, as I looked at your Profile and it looks like you are a Newbie.

"Inventory shows we have 8 analog ports, 5 of which are being used"

Where did you get this inventory and what do you mean by ports, do you mean 500 set TN's? or do you mean trunks from the Telco that go to Vmail?

I think you are asking how do you hookup a Fax machine with a DID number to the system.

This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Hi. I got the printout from ld 22 REQ slt. It says Analogue Telephones 8, left 3, used 5. It's interesting cause I'm sure we're not using any analog telephones, but I think someone was right in saying 2500 is considered "analogue." Ace, you're correct that I just want to hookup a fax machine with a DID number to the system.

The program the DID as the DN on one of your open analog (500 or 2500) and cross connect your TN to the jack. Plug in your fax and you should be good to go.

go to LD 81 REQ=cnt enter through until FEAT and type in sets it will tell you if they are 2500 or 500

Also make sure you have an analog line card in the pbx without this it doesnt matter if you have licenses or not.

Thanks A12. Happen to know what the tag would be on that card? (ie TDMI, MC-32, etc)

NT8D09 is the card part number.

Thanks all. I see I have the card and will be trying to get this working. I appreciate the help.
