How can a put in a specific IP to a remote IPO box rather than it trying to broadcast? It's got to be something simple I'm not seeing??

look in file\preferences\discovery

In the IP Search Criteria box - Enter specific address separated by semicolon

Still no go. Here is what I have done.

Under Discovery I have TCP Discovery checked.
NIC IP 172.16.10.10
NIC Subnet 255.255.255.0
Lower IP Range 172.16.10.1
Upper IP Range 172.16.10.254
IP Seach Criteria is blank until I click on the line above the following displays:
172.16.10.1 - 172.16.10.254;
So I then updated the string to:
172.16.10.1 - 172.16.10.254; 172.16.11.51; 172.16.21.51; 172.16.31.51;

Still no go????

172.16.11.51
Site2
172.16.21.51
Site3
172.16.31.51

IP Search Criteria
This section is used to enter TCP addresses to be used for the TCP discovery process. Individual addresses can be entered separated by semi-colons, for example 135.164.180.170; 135.164.180.175. Address ranges can be specified using dashes, for example 135.64.180.170 - 135.64.180.175.

SCN discovery checkmark will then discover all systems and grab config from all systems and also send back to all systems when you save. Shows very nicely the SCN problems.

There are 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't

I've put the following in the IP Search Criteria:

172.16.11.51; 172.16.21.51; 172.16.31.51;

I can ping all of them but manager can't locate??

Is this tru VPN?
Have you check your allowed ports, and ports pointed to your IPO?

I had windows firewall turned off but also had to remove the firewall from the NIC completely. On a workstation it was fine but on windows server this is what I had to do for manager to see the remote sites. Thanks for the help.

Did you tick the option "Use DNS" make sure it's unitcked.

You will also want to set up a "universal" SCN Admin account on all the switches. You will then be able to manage all the switches from one point.
