Can someone, anyone, maybe even someone from Microsoft, please tell how to make fixed width fonts work with a dot matix printer such as my Okidata ML391. When I select a fixed width font so that it will print faster using its own internal font instead of the bit mapped TrueType fonts, it prints about 4 lines and then nothing else. There has got to be a way to make it send just the ASCII codes to the printer. It starts out the way! and then it switches over to the bit mapped data. Why? Please, please, PLEASE! Someone must know what is going on and how to get around it.
Thanks you very much in advance.

Try to install the Generic/Text only printer driver or download the appropriate driver from an OKI website and the printer-embedded fonts should appear in your font list e.g. COURRIER 10CPI

Good luck,
Peter
