i have recently upgraded from a S8500 running CM 5.2 to virtual appliances running CM 7.1. i know that BCMS Vu was end of lifed years ago and we are working on other solutions in the future. i have not been able to the BCMS Vu Server to connect to CM 7.1. Using procr ip address and port 22, I cannot get the server to have a successful connection test. does anyone have information on whether or not it is even possible to connect the BCMS Vu 2.7 server to CM 7.X? Any assistance is appreciated.

server is running server 2008, works on the 5.2 system still.

It's probably due to tightening up SSH ciphers. It happens if you, say, get a new Macbook and try to ssh to a G450 with old firmware. They don't support any mutually agreeable ciphers, so the connection is rejected.

If your version of CM can still let you telnet, that would be one way.

I do believe it's a way Avaya's killing off the older management products - just not updating the underlying SSH libraries so they won't actually be able to connect to anything modern :)

if you can program yourself, search google "OSSI over ssh" or bcmsSVR to find the answer.

i finally got this going. Partly has to due with procr. BCMS vU will connect to CM 7.1 over a cLan card but it must be a dedicated card. so I configured the cLan card in ip-services for port 5022 with a dedicated connect to the ip-node bcmsserver. once that was completed, I changed the configuration in the BCMS vU server connection to match. while the BCMS vU product is EOL it will still work and recognize the VDNs.
