I am unable to get BCM Manager to work from a remote site using the corporate intranet. I am able to ping the BCM's
IP Address with no problems, however when I start the BCM manager the error message says the IP address is not found. I think I must be missing something but not sure what. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

PS: BCM is ver 3.6

Have you got a proxy server on your network?

Specifying the port isn't required in 3.5 or higher. It doesn't hurt anything, but it's not needed.

I think mrmarshall is onto something with the proxy server. if it can be pinged, the connectivity is there, so something is blocking the http request (unless https is blocked by a firewall somewhere, which I doubt would be happening).

Acording to our IT guys there is no proxy or firewall that is blocking me from connecting...the odd thing I forgot to mention is that I am able to log on to the BCM using Internet Explorer at the same IP adress. My IT guy played with it for an hour today and he is at a loss to explain why BCM Manager will not connect. Thanks for your quick responses to my thread. Any other ideas out there?

I know what biv343 said, but did you try with Ip address xx.xx.xx.xx/:6800 as security may be turned on. nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I did try Ip address xx.xx.xx.xx/:6800 with the same result, error message stating that machine Ip address xx.xx.xx.xx/:6800 was not found. I appreciate all your help. Thanks again.

I had the same problem. I unplugged my pc from our network. changed from DCHP to a made up static IP and logged on just fine. It seems at least from here, we cannot log onto the BCM while logged on to the corporate network. Good luck.
