I have a user who gets locked out of their mailbox an uncountable number of times. I ran a excessive login attempts report & i only see 2 attempts from her ext.

User states they are not dialing the wrong password. They can get in once or twice to listen to messages then they try again & are unsuccessful to access their mailbox.

Can someone help me I've been going thru this for 3 weeks now.

Thanks

Either someone's trying to hack into her mailbox, or the keys on the phone she's dialing from are sticking.

Nessman

Thanks,

I thought the same thing. I changed her phone & removed the message waiting key & informed her to dial the vm ext manually.

What should I do if its a hacker

Are they using desktop messaging? Or someone else using desktop messaging poiting to that mb, run a session trace if need to...

When a user change their mb pwd and forget to update desktop messaging pwd propertied, and they attept to acess the mb via desktop messaging, it will lock the mb out in seconds, you'll also see 15+ attempts to login if you look at the mb properties in CPMGR

In CallPilot Security Administration you can add her DN as a "monitored mailbox" and whenever anyone tries to access her box, the Event Browser will log who is trying to log in. A failure will look like this: "Failed login attempt to Hacker Monitored mailbox" along with the DN of the calling party.

Check this first. I had a user about a year ago that was getting locked out constantly and this was the issue. Drove me nuts until I stumbled upon this being the issue.
