Used System Question IP Office 500 v2 Version 5.0

Hi everyone,

I picked a used IP Office 500 v2 version 5.0. It has VM Pro license but vm pro server, I was going to use embedded vm since only have 8 users but if I set it to embedded vm it doesn't work. When you dial *17 to get or setup vm you get a busy signal.

The system is showing 2 Analogue ATM16's but there is only one.

I have 8 users with 8 pots lines, I don't need any auto attendant. Just need VM. I don't have a problem with resetting the system, I just want to verify the process. Step one is to export the licenses. step 2 in Manager > Advanced > reset to default (I'm I correct here?

Once I bring the system back up, if I can get away without all of those modules that would be great. The phones are 4412's so I know I need one DIG DCP 16.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Yes, save off the licences and flatten the switch. All will be well with the world then.

Ok I just realized its a 500 v1 not v2 so I don't have embedded VM.

Wrong, v1 has embedded voice-mail, it runs off the compact flash card.

Not in standard form it doesn't. It's an optional extra, they weren't included with every system

Yes and the one I have doesn't have the flash, I restored to default and now the Analog ATM 16 just flashes red, also on the Phone 8 and Digsta8 I see there are ATM 4u, they are trunk ports but I don't see them in the Manager. I would use those instead of the Analog 16

Seriously, call someone in and pay them fairly rather than getting free support here. Not many of us here like cutting our own throats.

Charles, you have VM Pro lic on that switch
(That's why there is no flash card)

You have to dig up a server or at least a PC for the VM Pro.

Defaulting removed the upgrade to Pro licence so now no external modules are supported, that's why it's red.
If it doesn't see the line cards, they 're either:
A) Not there, just the stickers on the front are
B) Too new (ATMv2) and so not recognised until late R8
C) Knackered

Oh, R5... don't think that used upgrade to Pro....either way I could sort it out
