hi guys,

What would be the best process in installing or upgrading UCM?

as what i have understand with UCM manual, this is the process. correct me if i'm wrong.

1. Load the licenses to the IPO then shutdown.
2. Insert the UCM module.
3. Once boot up, configure the UCM module.

question:
What if the IPO control unit software version is lower than the latest which is 8.1(69), what equipment should upgrade first? UCM or IPO control unit?

I'd upgrade the system before putting the card in if you're going to.
If you don't want to upgrade system, put card in and reimage down to your desired release. What else can you do?

some nasty voices say that it would be best to upgrade the phone system and put the UCM in a box and send it back to Avaya until it works well. :)

but so far I have always upgraded the UCM last, maybe that was why I had so many problems.

Upgrade IPO first, then upgrade UCM

thanks holdmusic34. my UCM is already PCS03.

anyway guys, if my UCM is already in 8.1 release, i just need to download the upgrade files right? I based it here:

thanks in advance and sorry if it is a noob question. it's my first UCM installation.

New install- reimage the .iso

if it's an upgrade you can back up VM, the wavs folder etc and reimage and then restore back up or

you can load all those rpm files in one....at......a......time.

I always copy them all in once with a SSH client like secure ssh client or WinSCP (they both have a explorer view too)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
