I can't seem to find an answer anywhere - about a year ago, I upgraded my IP Office to 8.1 and I have the following:
IP500V2 with
Software Upgrade 6(R8.1)
Preferred Edition (Voicemail Pro)
Power User
Essential Edition

And a bunch of other stuff like SIP and Endpoints..

Can I run the V9 upgrade from 8.1? I am reading I can without the need for a license if I am on Essentials and 8.1, but can't find the real answer.

No, you need a R9 upgrade licence....be aware it's almost twice the price of all previous upgrade licences :)

Indeed, it's about 2x price, just one more reason they want to get in you into an IPOSS contract. mmmmm... Tasty. Thx Avaya :)

They've got to force people to buy it somehow, only a very small percentage do :)

How much is it? I remember wasnt it like $99 to go to 8.1?

It was more than $99 for the old upgrade licences.....unless you got them at a good discount or got the small site licence, the R9 one is $500 RRP :)

Yes, for SML Upgr it was $99, and the same variant of R9.0 is x2 and then some.

Kind regards

Gunnar

We just have a small license I believe. I see it online for as low as $117 for a 9.0 upgrade Small ...

Sounds too good to be true.

Kind regards

Not really Gunnar.
Avaya price (in dollars perhaps changed to euro's) and thne minus distri or BP discount.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Peter, in Euros that it's plausible, at least with current exchange rates.
In USD, that retailer must be Santa Claus:)

I've seen popular electronic webshops tap into TechData's catalogue, shovelling everything out with a 2% profit.
(Of course they don't have the ability to actually get the lic's)

Kind regards

Gunnar

I know :)
I also know how much discounts are being given to distri's and resellers :)

You are a lucky man:) (and I know that we pay the same price for a 9608)

Kind regards

Yankblan, i saw the same today, don't worry.
When you have the license (and is valid) then just upgrade.

It always shows like that, the "required licence" isn't what's required to upgrade (despite the fact it the fu&@ing upgrade window) it's what's required to run the level the system is already at, it has been like that since they introduced it, I ask them what the point of that useless info is but they never answer :)
