Upgrading 12xx series

I was told that the firmware for 3900 series phones is part of the CS1000's OS. Is this also true for the 1200 series IP phones? Currently it upgrades them to C60. We'd like to upgrade them to C8G, do I have to upgrade the CS1000's OS or can I load the bin files on it somehow?

The firmware for the IP phones is done through the signal server not through the call server. You will have to get the file and do the upgrade through Element Manager. After you get the updated file in there you will need to reboot the SS and then the phones should automatically upgrade the firmware when they register to the SS

You don't need to reboot the SS - you can push the new firmware out to the phones via LD 117. You can also schedule it if you'd like rather than causing a service diruption.
