Upgraded Server to 12.1 but can't upgrade V2s

Decided finally upgrade our Lab Primary server to 12.1 by moving it from an Avaya-provided server to our VMware environment.

An issue I ran into was I couldn't upload the VMPRO backup (otherbackups folder). I can select it in 7071 and press "ok" but it does nothing. I had to manually upload all backup vmpro files including the mdb.

Now the big issue is if I try to upgrade our V2s through web manager, it is giving this error. The Primary is on 12.1 and the V2s are on 11.1.3.1.

Any ideas?

Let's try upgrade the IP500v2 gateway directly like a normal IP Office or, alternatively, by recreating the SD card with the R12.1 Manager.
Regarding the Server you have not "upgraded" but switched from R11.1 phisical server to R12.1 virtualized, it's like a new install, that's why to move the data each other you had to import the mdb call flow (and import the wav files, I suppose)

I've tried upgrade through upgrade wizard. Fails. I've tried resetting security settings and it's the same deal. We are going to SD upgrade on Monday.

Also getting this error when trying to sync database,

Wonder if these issues are 12.1 specific....

Security settings policies change every new sw, so I would try in this way: Defaulting the existing security settings on both IPOs, then upgrade them all directly via SD (if licensing is local based be sure you save the PLDSkeys.xml files before).
As soon they both are upgraded to 12.1 make a factory default reset to both security settings again (via serial is the best choice, imho), then enter the Server via Manager and grab them all.
Be sure licensing setting is the same on all nodes (weblm or local).

If you are testing LAB systems I wonder why not to use the IP Office demo solution (IPO anywhere), it holds all kind of licenses up to 4 nodes.

Tried but failed. Reset security settings on the V2s but that made no difference. We are going to just SD upgrade botYou nee
If it's part of a server edition you need to check the program code checkbox in security settings and make sure to reset the system password.

Yep, I checked all of that. Same issue. We just went with the SD card upgrade route.

great news, also windows firewall need to be turned off, otherwise it will always fail.
Windows firewall is and has been disabled, still got the same issue. Not sure when we will be upgrading another customer to R12 but I will see if I can replicate the issue then.

I never disabled the firewall. Upon first start of manger it asks to grant access, I confirm and that's it. Never ran the firewall script in the last 10 years or disabled firewall manually.
