Upgrade Question 2

Tonight I will be upgrading a 3300 MXe ver. 10.2.0.26_2 to the current 13.xxx.

This particular system is for a hotel and is tied in with some SX2000 per-nodes. Eventually this will be switched out to some ASUII's or whatever is decided upon, but this is what I have to work with for now.

Through anyone's experience, is there any "unforeseen pains" that might come up when doing this upgrade? Will I be able to just run the 13.xxx installer and call it a day? Or will I have to go to first 12.xxx then up?

I'll be doing this in the wee hours of the morning, unless it is not many unforeseen issues, I may be able to do this prior to check in at a less busy window of time during the day before check ins and requests for wake up calls are taken.

Thanks for any input in this regard.

You can upgrade directly from 10.2 to 13.X without any issues

The Per nodes are an unknown for me but wouldn't concern me overly much

I recommend an Online Upgrade that will maintain service except for a reset to come up on the new software. The Software can be loaded anytime and the reset scheduled for a convenient time.

FYI
The last supported version for systems with per-nodes is MCD6.0SP3 which I think is 12.0.3.15. The below is in the release notes for MCD7.1

SX-2000 Peripheral Node Support – NOT recommended
Mitel has previously communicated that MCD 6.0 will be the last formal release supporting the legacy SX-2000 Peripheral Nodes. There has been no change in this plan and as such we do not recommend that customers with Peripheral Nodes upgrade to release 7.1.

Whoops, I was aware of the support dropping for 2K per nodes but I thought it was hardware, not software.

Yeah, I would only take this to 12.0.3.15

Thanks for the replies.

I read that somewhere too, you triggered a memory deep in the recesses. Apparently, someone had upgraded one of these to 13.xxx and it actually works with no problems... yet. I think I will play it safe than sorry and do as you all suggest. Typically, if anything weird that can ever happen with the Mitel system, it will happen to me. LOL!!!

Again, Thanks!!!

It's not that it won't work but that it's not supported.

Meaning if you have issues, you're on your own.

I haven't tried it, but would be suprised if it didn't function like the previous version. It is still there in programming.
