Upgrade MICS 4.1 to 7.0 XC

What is invloved in upgrading from MICS 4.1 to 7.0 XC software. How long does it take using the upgrade tool?
Also, is it true that going from 4.1 to 6.1 XC does not require the upgrade tool?

1-you need the 7.0XC upgrade tool for the upgrade.The total upgrade process takes about 45 min. You also need the rel 2 cartridge.
2-from 4.1 to 6.1 you do not need an upgrade tool.
