I have a customer that has a Mitel 2000 running LW30. They want to upgrade the controller to the latest as they are planning to upgrade to a 3300 later this year. I remember t being a free upgrade to go to the latest, but may have been smoking something. Can anyone verify this?

I vaguely recall a bulletin about this. My recollection is that if you bought the 3300 that the software to get the SX2K up to the point where you could migrate the database was no charge, but you had to surrender the Sysid module. That having been said I doubt Mitel is going to "give" the client anything without a signed order for a new 3300 in hand. There was also a time limit on it. The program officially ended last Dec 31 but then I heard it was extended 90 days, so I'd hurry if I was them. Go to MOL and check the bulletins.

I think that you can upgrade a Rel 30 to 34 without the need for a new password. CHeck MOL for sure.

New passwords are not required for stream upgrades from LIGHTWARE 30 Release 2.0 to a higher stream (as long as there are no option changes). For previous loads, new passwords are still required.

If you have a copy of the latest software (available to VAR's and registered users for Free) then no charge.

VAR's will charge for their time, expertise, and access as they see fit.
