Somehow, on my menu bar under View, the Hide Panels has been greyed out. I've closed Dreamweaver, restarted my computer, open Dreamweaver again and checked to see if the Hide Panel is available again. It's not. How do I get this option to be enabled again. I need it.

Try looking in the Menus.xml file in your Dreamweaver program's directory's subdir /Configuration/Menus. There the initial menu configuration is set up. What you look for could be in about line 17xx - in my german version of DW 4 Ultradev the window menu starts in line 1707, that could be different in your version. Try searching for something that only shows up in that menu in the XML text, that makes finding the menu a lot easier. (Note: The mnemonic, the key that is used to access the menu, is marked with an underscore be_fore the corresponding character.)

If there at panel the enabled="false" just set it to "true" and everything will be fine.
Otherwise your problem is somewhere else...

Hope this helps...

I've looked in the Menu.xml file as you have indicated and under the _View menu list, there is not instance of "Hide Panels". The version I'm running is just Dreamweaver 4 and not Dreamweaver 4 Ultradev or are they the same?

There's more than one _View menu, as all of the menus in all windows are contained in this file... Did you look at the right one? That's why I suggested searching for something that only shows up in this menu (meaning shows up in no other window)...

You could also reinstall DW (Ultradev is quite similar but a little more powerful and so also has a slightly different menu structure). Make sure you backup the registry key for the sites before, so you still have the sites after the reinstall...
