Hi,
I have an this one phone out of about 20 phones have this issue that when calling out, the receiver receives an private caller id. I checked the ip office manager to see if there is anything off but I don't see any out of place. I have searched this and avaya forum to see if I would across any luck regarding this issue but rather the opposite of where people would like to change or block the caller id. The system is running through pri / 500v2 and mostly 1408 phone models. Any ideals?

Thanks

Make sure there's not a short code against the user, the user's class in user rights, an entry in the ars forms or against system short codes (unlikely)
The short code will be either:
? / Dial / .W
or
? / Dial / .Sfollowedbyanincorrectnumbernotsupportedbyyourcarrier.

this time you gave me a mountain

Hmm.. there is an use rights called 1408, I believe all the phones most if not all the phones model 1408 belongs to this user rights. To confirm, I checked the User Rights Membership and it does show that phones 1408 falls under this user rights. Interestingly there's nothing in the Short Codes. This phone is part of the member ship that all the other phones are part off. Wonder if I can make it not a member? By change it User Rights View to user data and delete Working Hours User Rights field at User Rights.

Does the user have anything in the Shortcode tab?
Is there an ICR for the user?

I doubled checked the short codes for the user to make sure but no codes has been setup for this user/phone. The incoming call route main number goes to the to an hunt group and nothing specific for the user. There one setting that I think it might be it, I was looking at the 1408 and it has an setting at the feature->call settings has an withhold number option. I think this could be it since the ip office setting looks normal. I'm not in currently at the location where the issue is but will need to check it out later. Thanks for the replies, will update later.

Are you setting the callerID through a system shortcode or a user shortcode? Maybe all users have a shortcode but this user or your using a system shortcode and this one user has a shortcode overriding it. Figuring out how your sending the CallerID would be the first step. Then figuring out what this one extension is doing differently is the next step. Monitor should show what that extensions sends and what a working extension sends as well.

You can also do this via the handsets built in menu, there is no evidence of this in system programming :)

Great point amriddle, I have actually run into that once before but completely forgot about it till you just said that. Star for you.

Ok great news so I did check the phone settings and went to the with hold section and it was turned on.
Going give some stars cause although not direct answers but it tells me more information on what to look for in case something like this happens again.
Thanks for help guys, happy holidays!

I think amriddle01 did give you the direct answer
